Telehealth Adoption in Australian Clinics (2026)
We crawled 23,564 unique clinic domains across Australia to find out which ones offer telehealth and what platforms they use. The short version: 90.6% of clinics show no detectable telehealth tool, and the market is dominated by a single player.
The Big Picture
Despite the post-COVID push for virtual consultations, only 9.4% of Australian clinic websites expose a detectable telehealth platform. The remaining 90.6% either handle telehealth through their PMS (invisible from the outside), use phone-only consults, or simply don't offer remote appointments.
Medical clinics (GPs) are the outlier: 52% have a detectable telehealth tool. For every other specialty, adoption is below 8%.

Key Takeaways
HotDoc dominates telehealth. With 1,322 detected domains (5.6% of all AU clinics), HotDoc accounts for 60% of all detectable telehealth installs. Its integration with GP practice management systems gives it an insurmountable lead in general practice.
Zoom is the allied health default. 371 domains detected. Among psychologists, speech pathologists, and occupational therapists, Zoom is the most common telehealth tool. These clinics prefer a generic video platform over a healthcare-specific one.
GP clinics are the only specialty with majority adoption. 52% of medical clinic domains have a detectable telehealth tool. For every other type, adoption is single digits. This reflects the Medicare telehealth rebate structure, which heavily incentivises GP video consults.
Coviu is the healthcare-native challenger. With 101 detected domains, Coviu is the largest purpose-built telehealth platform after HotDoc. It targets allied health and psychology, but trails Zoom 4:1 in those segments.
The greenfield is massive.90.6% of clinic domains show no telehealth signal. For telehealth vendors, that's 21,300+ domains that are either using invisible tools, phone-only consults, or no remote option at all.
Methodology
Data sourced from the Yoluko clinic intelligence platform. 23,564 unique clinic domains across Australia are crawled every week. Telehealth detection is based on public website signals: embedded booking widgets with video consult options, JavaScript includes for telehealth platforms, meta tags, and link patterns. "Not detected" means no public signal was found, not that no telehealth is in use. Many clinics offer telehealth through their PMS booking flow, which leaves no public signature.
