Review & Reputation Platforms in Australian Healthcare (2026)

We scanned 22,934 Australian clinic websites for review management tools and review display widgets. 83.3% have no review management platform at all. Of those that do, the top tools are patient engagement platforms with reviews built in, not standalone reputation software.

The Big Picture

83.3% of Australian clinic websites have no detectable review management platform. 37.5% embed Google Reviews on their site, typically through a generic widget. Only 16.7% use a dedicated review management or collection tool.

That gap tells a clear story. Clinics know reviews matter (over a third display them), but very few invest in actively managing or generating them. Most rely on whatever Google Reviews they accumulate organically.

16.7%
Use a Review Platform

3,828 domains with a dedicated review management or collection tool detected.

37.5%

8,600 domains embed a Google Reviews widget on their website.

83.3%
No Review Management

Over 19,100 clinic domains have no review management tool at all.

Top 10 Review Platforms

The ranking is dominated by patient engagement platforms (HotDoc, HealthEngine) that collect reviews as part of the booking flow, not by standalone reputation tools.

Percentages are out of 22,934 total AU clinic domains. A single domain can use multiple review tools, so rows are not mutually exclusive.

Healthcare-Specific vs Generic

Patient engagement platforms with built-in reviews. HotDoc (5.5%) and HealthEngine (2.7%) are not review platforms per se. They are booking and patient engagement tools that prompt patients for a review after their appointment. This passive collection model is why they top the list: clinics get reviews without doing anything extra.

Generic Google Reviews embedding widgets.Trustindex (2.8%) and Elfsight (1.5%) are general-purpose review display tools. They pull Google Reviews onto a clinic's website but do not manage reputation or solicit new reviews. Combined, they account for 4.3% of all domains, more than any dedicated reputation platform.

US-origin review management SaaS. Birdeye (0.9%) and Podium (0.7%) are the most visible dedicated reputation platforms in AU healthcare. Both originated in the US market and have expanded into Australia. Their combined 1.6% share suggests the dedicated reputation management category is still early in AU.

UK-based, expanding into AU. Doctify (0.6%, 140 domains) is a UK healthcare review platform now growing in Australia, particularly among specialist clinics. Still small, but a notable cross-market entrant.

Key Takeaways

  • 1.HotDoc is the biggest review source in AU healthcare (5.5%).Its booking flow asks patients for reviews automatically, making it the default reputation engine for thousands of clinics that never chose a "review platform."
  • 2.Generic embedding tools beat dedicated platforms. Trustindex + Elfsight (4.3% combined) are more common than Birdeye + Podium (1.6% combined). Clinics would rather display existing Google Reviews than pay for active reputation management.
  • 3.83.3% have no review management tool at all. That is over 19,100 clinic domains with no detectable review platform. For reputation SaaS vendors, this is a massive greenfield opportunity.
  • 4.Doctify (140 AU domains) is early but growing. Especially visible among specialist clinics. Worth watching as it expands from its UK base.
  • 5.Whitecoat (27 domains) is barely detectable. Despite being an AU-native healthcare review platform, its website footprint is minimal compared to international competitors.

Methodology

Data sourced from the Yoluko clinic intelligence platform. 22,934 unique clinic domains across Australia are crawled weekly. Detection is based on public website signals: JavaScript includes, embedded widgets, meta tags, link patterns and DOM elements. Two categories are tracked separately: review management/collection platforms (tech_reviews) and review display widgets (tech_display_reviews). "Not detected" means no public signal was found on the clinic's website.
